John W. Moore M.Ed. – BLP Founder, Director, Narrator, and Writer
A native of Dripping Springs, Texas, John has served as an evangelist, teacher, preacher and minister of the gospel for over 30 years. He and his wife Carla work with Bear Valley Bible Institute International, and serve as the directors of Bible Passages. Prior to his work with Bible Passages, John served as the pulpit minister for the Dripping Springs church of Christ, an instructor at the Southwest School of Bible Studies in Austin, and as a campus minister and director of the Bible chair at the University church of Christ in San Marcos, Texas. He is a certified public school teacher and a graduate of Southwest Texas State University, where he earned both a B.S. in Education and a Masters in Education in the department of Counseling and Psychological Services. He has done postgraduate work at the Episcopal Theological Seminary of the Southwest, Jerusalem University, Austin Graduate School of Theology, and Abilene Christian University where he was enrolled in the Master of Arts in Religious Studies program. He has worked extensively in educational programs of the church and has years of experience in assisting and directing youth church and leadership camps. He is the narrator and author of Searching For Truth, and served from 2005 through 2008 as a co-editor of the monthly periodical The Gospel Journal. John is also the narrator and instructor of Learning to Use the Greek New Testament, a thorough study of New Testament Greek presented in 35 lessons on 13 DVDs.
Carla Moore – Writer, Proofing, and Staff Support
Carla Moore grew up in a family dedicated to ministry, then met John while they were in college at Texas State University. They married in 1986, and have since been involved in ministry at the Bible Chair on the campus of TSU, the Southwest School of Bible Studies in Austin, the Dripping Springs church of Christ, and now with the Bible Passages and Bible Land Passages Ministries. Carla taught for over ten years in the Christian Women’s Studies program at the Southwest School of Bible Studies, and now teaches a course for the Bear Valley Bible Institute Women’s Program. She enjoys speaking to women of all ages in various places, and has written for The Gospel Journal, Think, and serves as a columnist for Christian Woman. She also has served in numerous Christian youth camps, and especially enjoys helping John guide trips to Israel, and writing about those experiences on her blog Walking Where Jesus Walked.
Dewayne Bryant Ph.D. – BLP Narrator and Writer
Dr. Bryant is an archaeologist, minister, and educator. He has professional experience in Christian apologetics and field experience at Tel El-Borg, Egypt and at the Dinosaur Excavation and Taphonomic Research Project in Wyoming. He has earned degrees in from David Lipscomb University (B.A., M.A.), Reformed Theological Seminary (M.A.), Amridge University (Ph.D.). He has also completed all coursework for the M.A. degree in Biblical and Ancient Near Eastern Archaeology and Languages from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Dr. Bryant currently serves as the pulpit minister for the New York Avenue church of Christ in Arlington, Texas and continues to write for several Christian magazines and academic publications.
Rick Brumback Ph.D. – BLP Narrator and Writer
Rick is currently a Scholar-in-Residence, College of Biblical Studies, Freed-Hardeman University, Henderson, Tennessee, where he teaches graduate and undergraduate courses. Prior to this, he served for nearly two decades as Director and Instructor at the Southwest School of Bible Studies in Austin, Texas. Rick holds a Ph.D. in Religion from Baylor University with an emphasis on early church history and theology, as well as a Master’s in Applied and Engineering Physics from Cornell. He has served as preacher for several congregations and has had opportunity to participate in evangelistic campaigns around the world. Before entering ministry, Rick was a Research Physicist with the High Explosives Research and Development group at Eglin AFB.
Gary Massey, Jr., J.D. – BLP Narrator and Writer
Gary Massey is a pulpit minister and a practicing attorney. Gary earned a B.A., summa cum laude, in History and Bible from Freed Hardman University, and a J.D., magna cum laude, from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. Gary owns his own law firm and preaches every Sunday for the Mountain Creek Church of Christ in Chattanooga, TN. He has made several trips to Israel and Biblical sites in other counties as well.
Jonathan Moore M.D. – BLP Narrator and Writer
Dr. Moore received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine Degree from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in 1999. He subsequently completed a three year podiatric medical/surgical residency including a one year Diabetic Foot Fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center. Dr. Moore became the first foot & ankle surgeon to be appointed staff privileges at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Dr. Moore is widely published on numerous foot and ankle related topics and serves on multiple professional boards, including the American Academy of Podiatric Practice Management. He was also recently named as one of Podiatry Management’s most influential podiatric physicians in America. His academic and professional experiences have included the following: Diabetic Foot Fellowship/ Assistant Instructor (University of Texas Health Science Center); Primary Podiatric Medical Residency (CCPM/University of California, San Francisco); Master’s of Science Medical Education (California College of Podiatric Medicine, San Francisco); Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (California College of Podiatric Medicine, San Francisco; University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio); Bachelor’s Science- Biology (Southwest Texas State University); Master of Arts Biblical Studies (Amridge University). Having served as a Fellow and Assistant Instructor at the University of Texas Health Science Center, he is now blessed with the opportunity to lecture across the country on behalf of the American Academy of Podiatric Practice Management and on the behalf of several great corporations that are involved in academic teaching programs around the world. Dr. Moore also serves as a Bible Land Passage Tours instructor and has traveled extensively throughout the Bible lands.
Doug Garner – Photographer
Doug Garner is a member of the Buda/Kyle church of Christ. He has been married to Karen for 29 years and has two children, Reagan, age 24 and Lauren, age 20. He volunteers time to WVBS wherever he’s needed. Among other things, he has worked on the Noah’s Ark and Bible Land Passages projects doing photography and travel planning.
Mat Cain – Videographer, Video Editor, and Production Designer
Mat Cain serves as the cinematographer, editor and producer of Bible Land Passages. He is also the Video Production Manager at World Video Bible School and has over 20 years of experience in the video industry.
